Went to the Vue cinema in Cardiff last night to see the new Pixar film Wall-E. I’ll try not to give anything away here…

Set in the future, Earth has been abandoned by its inhabitants because of excessive waste. Left behind were loads of robots designed with one task, to clean up the mess until it was suitable for habitation again.

Neatly compacting the rubbish into box’s and stacking them into towers ready for some other unknown process, the robots fall by the wayside leaving our hero of the film WALL-E alone, relentlessly continuing.

Artificial intelligence seems to have taken over as Wall-E’s self repairs keep him ticking over. He continues his job until the arrival of EVA, a more futuristic model which must have been modeled by Apple that instigates an instant attraction for Wall-E. He’s watched some old films and learns how to hold hands.

Pixar have out-done themselves again with an incedibly detailed animation that at time will have you believing it must be real objects. The storyline, although basic, is compelling and easy to be drawn into. The kids will love it and be damanding Wall-E toys for upcoming birthdays for sure.

Went to the international food festival down cardiff today. You may be wondering why the picture of a dalek. Well it was just rolling around doing a really bad job at looking scary.
Food festival was pretty cool. Unfortunately there was no pate to be found.
One curiosity was Rhymney brewery’s stand. They had plastered thier stand with signs saying they had Champion Beer of Wales, 2008. Last time i checked, that prize went to the Otley O8. When i asked the people on the stand, they seemed to think that because they won in 2007, that gave them the right to claim the title between when that was awarded and the next time Champion Beer would be awarded, which would include part of 2008. Don’t think that’s how works, but I’m not sure what can be done about that now. I just hope that Rhymney Brewery realise that their misinterpretation of the award hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Not sure what happened but at some point around Friday my Nokia N95 started telling me “SIM card registration failed”. Unfortunately, being at the British Grand Prix and no where near an alternative, I was unable to post from Lifeblog to this site any photos from the race as intended.
I was able to ring Orange on Saturday, and after 20mins on hold, spoke to a real person. Apparently, the details of the problem would be passed onto the Technical support team who would ring me back the next day and leave their direct number on voicemail, which didn’t happen.
Another 30 minute call to get to a real person this morning and a new sim is being sent out in the post. Hopefully, I’ll be back contactable again within the next day or so.
