6Nations Sweepstake update
by andy on Feb.15, 2010, under 6nations, Blog
Following the second weekend, here is a quick run down of the results and how they effect the projected score.
Weekend 1
| Ireland | 29 | 11 | Italy | 600 |
| England | 30 | 17 | Wales | 652.5 |
| Scotlandd | 9 | 18 | France | 570 |
It started to look like a nice 40 point average, but a defensive Scotland managed to limit the damage from France.
3 games, 114 points (average 38 points/game) makes a projected 570 points total.
Weekend 2
| Wales | 31 | 24 | Scotland | 633.75 |
| France | 33 | 10 | Ireland | 636 |
| Italy | 12 | 17 | England | 602.5 |
Again, things started out slow until Scotlands defense was weekend through their own mistakes and Wales took the advantage.
France, Ireland looked close for a little while and an under par England was visibly shaken by Italy, only just securing a low scoring win.
6 games, 241 points (average 40.1 points/game) makes a projected 602.5 points total so far…
Now we have a 2 week break which should be enough for most of the players to recover. Then 9 games remain. For those with sub 600 predictions, you have to hope for less then 40 points a game, and for everyone else, well I’m sure you can work that out.

Six Nations Sweepstake

The idea is simple enough. Predict the score for each of the 6 nations games and add all the points together. This number is you Total Points Prediction. (As an illustration, the results and points totals for the last 9 years can be found below.) Pick that number before anyone else, and pay £1, and it is a winner takes all game.
The deadline will be Friday, February 12th, giving everyone enough time to judge all the team’s performances after the first set of games. I won’t take any entries after this date.
Entries need to be submitted to me directly, in a first come first served basis.
Any entry with payment outstanding after 2nd set of games will be removed from the entry list.
If nobody gets the score exactly right, the money will go to whoever is closest, and if that is split between two guesses, then the money will be split between the two.
Any questions?
Welcome to my home on the web. I'll bog occasionally, but most of the time you'll just see an automated "LifeStream", feeds from my other online activities.
