Jack

by andy on Jul.28, 2008, under Blog, Jack

After a stiflingly hot weekend, back to work on Monday only to find the air conditioning is broken… with the window open the temp is sitting at 28 degrees.

The photo is made up of several images pieced together with Autostitch. I had heard on the news about how the smoke from Weston Super Mare’s pier was visible in Cardiff, and sure enough, here it is. blocking out the sun, almost. Such a shame the pier has gone, I hope that funds will be made available to rebuild it.

Visited Farnborough over the weekend to wish my mother Happy Birthday. Had a lovely trip, despite the idiototic middle lane drivers and a couple of speeding muppets sweeping between cars as if it was a speedway track. I hope mum enjoyed herself, there was certainly enough food for everyone. There was practically enough deserts to have 1 each, lol.

Jack took a boat ride around Cardiff Bay last Saturday. He seemed to enjoy himself, especially when he realised there was a free buffet on the boat left over from a previous trip. Add to that looking lovable enough for people to want to spoil him…

A very pleasant trip round the bay, if your down there with little else to do I reccomend it as something different. the cost is about £5 depending on if your goinground the bay, up the Taff to the castle or consessions.

Garden progress and dog walk

by andy on Mar.31, 2008, under Green, Jack

Garden bed 31032008The vegetable plot is coming along nicely as can be seen in this panoramic pic. I’ve so far planted the Leeks on the far left. On the far right is my granny smith apple tree. Next to this my wigwam for the pea plants and rosemary plant. The peas are planted and so they have a little more ease climbing the wigwam, I tied string around it. This should help the stability of the structure also.
tomorrow I’ll be transferring the Rocket, salad leaves and Pak Choi into pots so they can continue to grow neatly before I transfer them into the plot.
The center of the plot has a piece of trellace, I’m not sure if I’ll be using this or not. If it does get used, it’ll probably be for the Chilli plants.

Walk pan 1In other news, I’ve had a day off work today while work commenced on the ceiling of my dining room (it had some water damage from a burst pipe). While the first phase of fixing was under way (plastering over top ready to artex to match front) I took Jack out for a 3 hour hike over the Graig where I put took a few photo’s of a farm that I pieced together for this panoramic.
I also took some photos overlooking Pontypridd and Trefforest and pieced them together to create this other panoramic.
Walk pan 2
Needless to say, Jack is completely knackered now. :-)
