After a busy weekend, here’s a little run down…

• Friday night, Otley Arms warm up for the weekend. A bt of fun and more welcome backs to Darren while hes on shore leave (or whatever the Army call it)
• Saturday, after a 2 hour recovery lie in, a lovely 10mile hike around the Darran Valley and Dewi. Took about 5 hours and was supposed to tire jack out. Didn’t work though. Geo tagged photo’s on my Picasa gallery that will be available under the images section of this site soon enough.
• Saturday night; Lukes Birthday, a couple in Trefforest and a few in Cardiff. Luke didn’t quite make Cardiff. Wish I’d taken some photo’s but watching people run for cover from a little rain on St Mary Street is always amusing. Oddest sight of the night though was a very OAP leaving the Stadium after the Madonna gig, with pink furry cowboy hat
• After the F1 race it was down to Otley for Sunday Lunch then on to Caerphilly for the Megaday. Where Lee’s brother-in-laws band played and Officer Brown entertained with typical slapstick flair.
• Sunday night in Treff and several people looking a little the worst for wear
• Monday morning and another 2 hour recovery lie in…
• Monday afternoon, down to Cardiff Bay to see whats occurring. Seems to have been some european market, Beach Volleyball and Pirates… odd mix. Still managed t get Matt a replacement surfer bead necklace.
• Had to follow all that with a quite night in Monday… think I must be getting on a bit, lol

I’ve probably missed a few things, which wouldn’t really make a change fr those that know me. Quite a few photo’s can be found in albums on Facebook and Picasa… Right now though, its on with the world…

Test from new nokia n95 8gb

Having reached the end of my 18month contract with Orange, it was time to look around for a free upgrade. Currently though, my pickyness of phones meant i only really had 3 options available.

Get a new phone and sim that isn’t a nokia and sell it retaining the sim for my n95
Get an N95-8gb.
Wait until October for the N96

The N96 was very tempting, but it’ll probably be over a year for Orange to finish tinkering with it, leaving it useless. Plus, its primary bonus id the builtin DVB tuner, which be very unlikly to get a signal anywhere I would want to use it anyway.

As my phones flash is now broken, I’ve decided to plump for the N95-8Gb. Very much like my current phone, but sleek and black and faster to respond.

A quick phone call to Orange this morning, and voila, the new phone should be with me tomorrow morning. As I rang to request a PAC code to leave Orange, they also managed to throw am extra loyalty discount at me which should reduce my bills by another £10 a month. enough for a few more beers on the weekend.

I guess I’ll be playing with it for most of the next few weeks, tweaking software, setting up WiFi settings, etc. should keep me amused, lol.
